Day By Day

When you look up in the sky, you can see the stars and still not see the light

Last night was a late night and I punished myelf for it with extra pushups. Since when did 11:50 become such a late night? Nate would giggle with glee at winning another round of "Who's the old guy now?" Oh yeah, they were also the first pushups since May 6th. Not that I am obsessively keeping track of my failure to meet my daily, weekly and monthly goals or anything.

I remember when 2 hours of sleep and a coupla bumps was enough to get me through the day. I really must train my body to survive on less sleep. Or go back to the Peruvian Marching Dust which I can't do without resorting to a life of crime. So that's out. I won't make Munch grow up withut a Dad.

Dwight Yoakem can pretty much mke any day better. It's a pissing rain Tuesday, I am running late and am dead-dog tired from tossing and turning all night, but I've got a grin from Turn It On, Turn It Up, Turn Me Loose. Maybe that's because it's a bit of irony.

How do you take responsibility for fucking up someone else? For taking damaged goods and smashing them even further? What do you do when you feel you can and should help put them back together, but that doing so would probably exacerbate the very damage that you want to help fix. And how wrong is that you take some perverse pride in being someone's "biggest mistake?" Warp 9, Mr. Sulu.
